Polgar Chess Asia will be organising the MSSM-Masterskill National Scholastic Chess Championship 2010


The MSSM-Masterskill National Scholastics (U-9, U-11, U-13) Chess Championships will be held from 15-20 October 2010 at the Masterskill University College Campus in Ipoh and Polgar Chess Asia will be organising this event for the Ministry of Education and the Malaysian Chess Federation.

Winners will have the opportunity to play in the Asian Schools Chess Championship to be held from 16-23 December 2010 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Concurrently, Polgar Chess Asia will also be conducting a Seminar for Coaches designed together with Polgar Chess University in order to provide teachers and parents with the methodologies, skills and tools needed to effectively support their young talents.

Polgar Chess Asia is to conduct a Young Talent Workshop for the Tamil Nadu State Chess Association


In conjunction with the Asian Junior Chess Championship to be held in Chennai, India from 14-24 June 2010, the Tamil Nadu State Chess Association has invited Polgar Chess Asia to conduct a Young Talent Workshop for their junior players, the objective being to provide them with a framework to further their talent.

Topics will include selecting and developing an opening repertoire, understanding material, time, and space, correct evaluation of a position and then decision making, working with classical games, and the role of the endgame.

Polgar Chess Asia congratulates Grandmaster Hou Yifan of China for winning the 3rd KL Open!


Hou Yifan, a 16 year old chess prodigy from China who is already the Vice Womens World Chess Champion, was a very convincing winner of the 3rd KL International Open Chess Championship which was organised by Polgar Chess Asia for the Kuala Lumpur Chess Association and the Malaysian Intellect Development Foundation under the auspices of the Malaysian Chess Federation.

Polgar Chess Asia supports Six Seasons Chess in Bangladesh



Polgar Chess Asia is pleased to partner developmental programs with our friends in the region and are helping make possible the Parachute Advanced International Chess Tournament to be held from 8-14 March 2010 in Cox's Bazaar and which will also kick off Six Seasons Chess, an initiative of Grandmaster Niaz Murshed to organise year round programs of title and rating tournaments to provide opportunities for aspiring young talents.

Polgar Chess Asia is organising the KL Rapid Grand Prix at the RSC


Polgar Chess Asia will be running the KL Rapid Grand Prix for the Kuala Lumpur Chess Association and the Royal Selangor Club (RSC) to be held at the club's premises in Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

There will be two sections, Open and U-12, over 4 legs and a final, to be held on the first weekend of each month starting 6-7 February 2010.

Polgar Chess Asia is proud to be once again organising the Kuala Lumpur International Open Chess Championship for the Kuala Lumpur Chess Association (KLCA) for the Raja Nazrin Shah Challenge Trophy to be held from 7-12 April 2010 and sponsored by the Malaysian Intellect Development Foundation.

Our association by KLCA has been from its very inception and we have been involved in the KL Open since it started in 2008 and are indeed well and truly humbled by its unprecedented growth and success from year to year.

Following the appointment of Peter Long as Director of Polgar Chess University in Asia, the first Polgar Chess Asia Learning Centre has been setup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with our first programs to commence from today, 1 October 2009!
